Segment Guidelines::

Primary Recommendation:
# 1. Segment images until the target object (e.g. a person) almost fills the segment - as this provides the highest % Recognition (i.e. detection) score.
  2.  [object] recognition categories scan image-batches faster and do not require segmentation but...
        - [i]  provide lower  % Recognition (detection) scores for large (close-up) objects.
        - [ii] provide higher % Recognition (detection) scores for small (distant) objects - but will often 'miss' some of these objects.

Recommended Original Image Sizes:
(5568w x 4176h),  (5184w x 3888h),  (4000w x 3000h) pixels     (High-Resolution GoPro 10,9,8) or larger.
(465w x 367h) pixels                                                                      (Typical Low-Resolution Images  331KB)

Image Category: Persons Outdoors  Recommended Segmentation: 19 Columns x 14 Rows = 266 segments per image.

Upload max 20 Images per batch for 266 segments per image           to scan and Auto-PDF-report all 5,320 segments.
Segment Batch-Scan Rate:                             22,120 Segments/ hour          83 images/hour           (GoPro9     6MB).
Speed Scan Option: Use five-computer browsers (not tabs) for simultaneous multiple High-Resolution Speed-Scans:

Segment Speed-Scan Rate: (22,120 x 5)  =  110,600  Segments/hour      416 images/hour             (GoPro9     6MB).

Segment-Scan Example #2.   Low-Resolution Images:                  (example 465 x 357 pixel images    335KB)

Image Category: Persons Outdoors   Selected Segmentation:        7 Columns x 3 Rows = 21 segments per image.

Upload max 250 Images per batch for 21 segments per image        - to scan and Auto-PDF-report all 5,250 segments.
Segment Batch-Scan Rate:                              33,688 Segments/ hour     1,604 images/hour

        Speed Scan Procedure
        The Speed Scan procedure permits fast 'skipping' to scan every fifth image within the selected image folder.
        This often makes it possible to find the target object faster than sequentially scanning through every image in the folder.
        Start the Speed Scan batch at Image #1, then #2, #3, #4 and #5, to ensure that all the images within the folder are scanned.

PDF Scan Report
'Print/Save PDF' creates a permanent full-color PDF report of all the scans currently displayed in the browser.
This provides a portable digital copy of the scan results, that can be easily reviewed after each scan is completed.
It is recommended that the current file-path of the uploaded images be copied into the 'Searchlight Image Locator' File-Path field, as this folder location will then be included in the PDF scan report and in the name of the zip-file containing the PDF reports. This makes it much easier to locate the original images and their folders on reviewing the PDF reports.

        

The 'PDF Scan Report' for a Color search displays the Color-Search Palette & Keywords of the colors detected beside each scanned image. Their matching displayed color-swatches are not printed into the 'PDF Scan Report', to provide faster and smaller PDF reports.
To include these color swatches for the currently-displayed scan-report page use the browser's Print command to print to either a PDF file or a printed report. It may be necessary to include the 'print background' option for the color-swatches to also be printed.
